The Mitra family of shells are recognizable by their long spindle like shapes.  This attractive butter knife is from the Mitra Episcopalis family which has a distinctive orange and white pattern.  The butter knife is approximately 5 ¼” in total length.  This would make an attractive addition to any dining table.  Empty seashells are made into strong knobs, pulls, and tableware.
