The Mitra family of shells are recognizable by their long spindle like shapes.  This attractive cake knife is from the Mitra Episcopalis family which has a distinctive orange and white pattern.  It is approximately 10” in total length.  This would make an attractive addition to any desert course.  Empty seashells are made into strong knobs, pulls, and tableware.
