The Mitra family of shells are recognizable by their long spindle like shapes.  This attractive cheese knife is from the Mitra Episcopalis family which has a distinctive orange and white pattern.  It is approximately 9 ½” in total length.  This would make an attractive addition to any party platter.  Empty seashells are made into strong knobs, pulls, and tableware.
