The Mitra family of shells are recognizable by their long spindle like shapes.  This attractive corkscrew is from the Mitra Episcopalis family which has a distinctive orange and white pattern.  The Mitra shell is approximately 4” across.  This would make an attractive addition to any wine serving.  Empty seashells are made into strong knobs, pulls, and tableware.
